Hey there! We got a fresh, new look! You can now keep up with our work here: www.paigejones.co . This blog will continue to stay live, but will not be updated with our most recent work. To see what I'm up to, head over to the new blog: www.paigejonesblog.co. Cheers :-)

New Website and Blog!

Written by Paige on 05 July 2012.

Exciting news!!! We launched our new website and blog!

You'll also notice that we're under a different name. We've opted to go with "Paige Jones" for the business name just to simplify things. I'm the one networking and meeting with clients, so it's easier for people to associate the business with my name. Michael will still shoot weddings with me though, and will continue to be very much involved :-)

I couldn't be happier with the simple, clean look of our new brand. I really wanted the images to be the number one focus because...let's be honest...it's what everyone is interested in ;-)

You can view the website here: www.paigejones.co

I appreciate all of your support, and love. If you have a moment, drop by the new facebook fan page, and "like" it for contant updates! https://www.facebook.com/paigejonesco

Do What You Love ›› Joanna

Written by Paige on 04 July 2012.

Do What You Love.

It's a core belief Michael and I try to live by.

So. It only makes sense that we're drawn to those who share this idea.

Enter, this series.

It's a personal project for us. Finding others who are KILLIN' it, living life, doing what they love. And then photographing them.

Today, I bring you Joanna.

She works full time at IKEA as a Visual Merchandiser (isn't that awesome?!), but in her spare time you can find her in her basement studio...where she screen prints. Yep. Another awesome form of art I got to learn about whilst getting to know her. One of the reasons why Joanna is perfect for this series is that she screen prints for pure enjoyment. She doesn't have a shop. She doesn't sell it. She does it because she loves it.

Although...she totally could have an online shop, and she might consider it in the future, so I'll be sure to update you when that happens.

The process is very detailed and includes terminology that I can't remember, so I'll spare you the read, and share some photos instead. In these images, she's working on a wrapping paper design. Enjoy!

P.S. If you missed the first installment of Do What You Love, you can view the post here. Thanks for looking!

P.P.S. Happy 4th of July! A fitting post for a day of celebration. I hope everyone gets outside today and does something awesome :-)

Boudoir in the City

Written by Paige on 26 June 2012.

How 'bout some late afternoon boudoir? *raises hand*

A few months back, I had the opportunity to assist the lovely Bunn Salarzon. It was a good day. Great light, gorgeous model, and lots of laughs as we listened to Bunn's 90's R&B mix...which, I might add, is the best decade for R&B ;-)

We shot this downtown at the Nines hotel, which might be Portland's swankiest hotel. If you're getting married, or wanting a lush hotel experience, I'd definitely check out what they offer.

Anyway.

This was my first time shooting boudoir, and it most certainly won't be my last. So much creative freedom. I loved it.

Seriously. Could Angela be more stunning?

I don't think so.

Enjoy a few of my favorites from this shoot.

Boudoir makes a great wedding/anniversary present for the mister. If you'd like more info, contact me and we can chat :-)

Freelensing is for Rebels

Written by Paige on 18 June 2012.

I read a fabulous article on freelensing the other day and had never really tried it before, so last night I thought I'd test it out. Basically, your camera becomes near-sighted, and you can bend the image...much like a tilt-shift lens. It took some time to get things in [decent] focus, but it was fun to play around with it. I've seen some pretty awesome images using this technique...mine turned out oooookay. Just thought I post a few images on the ol' blog for funsies.

Happy Monday!

Just Another Evening...

Written by Paige on 09 June 2012.

Friday evening.

There was some rad light coming into the living room, and we were already in picture mode because Michael was taking my headshot for a website.

Blue wanted to give me kisses, and then these happened...

Friday, June & Candles

Written by Paige on 01 June 2012.

I can't believe it's JUNE!!

Ahhh...summer. My favorite season. I'm pumped to be here in Oregon right now where the breezes are fresh, the air is cool, and everything is new to us. Fun times.

The purpose of this post is two-fold, really.

First I wanted to say "Happy June"...

Second, I wanted to try a GIF.

Picture me sitting at my little bistro table with the windows open, curtains flowing, and my Citrus Zest candle glowing.

Oh, and it's Friday! I hope your weekend is filled with adventure...

Do What You Love ›› Erika

Do What You Love.

It's a core belief Michael and I try to live by.

So. It only makes sense that we're drawn to those who share this idea.

Enter, this series.

It's a personal project for us. Finding others who are KILLIN' it, living life, doing what they love. And then photographing them.

First up is Erika Moen. She epitomizes this series, really. She's a local Cartoonist, working in a collaborative studio space with other cartoonists (really, I could have photographed all of them), just makin' art.

Going in to this, Michael and I knew nothing about cartoonists. Surprised? So another obvious reason for pursuing this series is meeting interesting people in a city filled with 'em, and learning new things. I left this shoot more educated, refreshed, and inspired.

Can't wait for the next one. Yep. Stay tuned. More to come soon.

Until then, meet Erika.

Erika is a freelance cartoonist with a self-designed degree from Pitzer College in 'Illustrated Storytelling'. She lives in Portland, Oregon and is a member of Periscope Studio. She has been publishing her comics online for a dozen years and has several books out collecting her work, including both volumes of her autobiographical series, 'DAR!' More of her work can be seen at www.erikamoen.com.

Seriously. Check out her work.

Oregon Inspiration Shoot

Written by Paige on 23 May 2012.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to shoot a fab inspiration shoot. Beautiful day. Beautiful location. Beautiful models. It was super fun, and the farm animals made me laugh more than once...

This could not have taken place without the hard work of Ashley Lacer from Stargazer Weddings...she was the magic wand that coordinated with all the other fantastic vendors to make this day possible. So, if you're planning a wedding or other event in Oregon, take a look at these other vendors because they rock.
